First of all, welcome to my world, my blog perfecty Parfaite! Thank you for stopping by, even just for a moment, which, I hope, will finally last much longer!
Perfectly Parfaite is a lifestyle, beauty and healthy living blog with a French touch for forty-something – perfectly Parfaite – (French for Unique), women.
I love the simple things in life……the flowers in my garden, my first cup of coffee in the morning, warm summer evenings, listening to my daughters’ adventures in high school while we go for an evening walk, the unconditional love I see in the eyes of my son, going for a run, finding the perfect dress with matching heels, a good glass of wine, the sunset in La Bretagne, getting fresh croissants at the bakery on my bicycle, feeling the sand underneath my feet at the beach, a Saturday evening dinner with Mr. Perfectly Parfait, trying out a new nail color, renovating and redecorating our lovely home….just to name a few.
In my blog, we‘ll talk about all these topics, in no particular order, as well as other wonderful and challenging things of life that cross our paths as multi tasking super women.
To me, all women are perfectly Parfaite! We are all unique in our own way. Happiness starts in our head and when we take good care of ourselves, we can take good care of our loved ones.
I am Karen, a forty-something Dutch woman, married to Mr. Perfectly Parfait – who is French by the way- , mother of a 14 year old teenage girl and an 8 year old boy and working a full time job.
Like many other women, my days consist in holding up all the balls in the air, between getting myself ready for work and the kids for school in the morning, dropping of the kids, rushing of to work, getting home after a long day, nothing in the fridge, quickly do some grocery shopping, helping the youngest with homework, shower, preparing dinner and putting the kids to bed.
Besides the daily routine, I love working in my garden in the weekends and embellishing our completely renovated home constantly. As a self caring and modern woman, I try to work out on a regular basis, make healthy recipes and take care of myself, in mind, body and soul. I love reading books on self development, positivity and successful women.
Over the past 15 years, my family and I have traveled and lived in different European countries, mainly due to work. We consider ourselves as a mini version of the united nations ;), our children being born in Belgium and Germany.
Although we live in Germany for the moment, our heart lies in France, in Brittany to be precise. We are passionate about the Finistère coast, love to go sailing, making long walks along the coastal paths and enjoying long discussions at the dinner table while savoring our freshly fished lobster with a glass of white wine.
You might even learn a word or two of the french language while reading my blog, as I love this french Savoir Vivre!
So enjoy your stroll through my world and if you have any questions, comments, suggestions or if you need a translation of a french word you stumbled upon, I would love to hear all about it.
La Vie Est Belle!
